FastBytes was founded in 1997 as a web design company serving small and medium sized businesses in Memphis, TN. As the business grew there became an ever more increasing need to have a reliable place to host all the web sites that FastBytes had built for it's many clients. After much research, FastBytes leased an Internet server and had it co-located in a data center in Seattle, Washington. The server worked out very well and the business soon grew to multiple servers. It was at this time that it became apparent there was a need for a provider who specialized in server outsourcing solutions.

In early 1999, FastBytes adopted a new business goal: To become a Single Point of Technology and Support specializing in small business applications.
